La Mollla®

In February 1987 Tiziana Redavid , an architecture student in Turin, visited the factory of a friend, a manufacturer of industrial springs. The ground is strewn with them. The young Italian picks them up by the dozen, slips them on her wrist, and soon, these simple springs will find an artistic vocation from her imagination. She was struck by the analogy with African ornaments and even more by the ability to divert this industrial material into jewelry.

Each bracelet is made up of 97 stainless steel springs, a nod to the year of their launch on the market. The delicacy of their texture evokes silk and their lightness contrasts amazingly with their quantity. La molla in Italian means "spring". Tiziana Redavid has the idea to register the brand la mollla® with 3 L's to graphically evoke the movement of the spring.
